South Devon MP sees Full Fibre boost for Stoke Fleming homes and businesses
Caroline Voaden MP visited Openreach engineers in Stoke Fleming to see first‑hand how Full Fibre broadband is transforming connectivity for local residents and businesses.
More than 660 homes and businesses in Stoke Fleming and the surrounding area can now access faster, more reliable broadband through Openreach’s Full Fibre network — helping people work, learn and stay connected.
The South Devon MP met engineers in the village to learn more about the innovative engineering techniques being used to deliver Full Fibre broadband across her constituency.
Full fibre technology offers a faster, more reliable broadband connection. The once-in-a-generation technology enables locals to connect multiple devices at gigabit-capable speeds and will help businesses trade online and compete for decades to come.

Caroline Voaden MP said: “Digital connectivity is far and away the most common issue constituents raise with me, so I was eager to see the progress Openreach is making to deliver Full Fibre speeds in South Devon. There is still a way to go to make these speeds widespread in South Devon, and we need more government investment to cover the most hard-to-reach properties. I will continue to work with Openreach and other providers to boost connectivity in rural areas like ours.”
The visit was hosted by Martin Williams, Openreach Partnership Director, who said: “It was great to show Ms Voaden the difference Full Fibre is already making in communities like Stoke Fleming. This upgrade gives local people a faster, more reliable connection that keeps up with modern life — whether that’s running a business, working from home, streaming or gaming.
“We’re continuing to build at pace across Devon and we want as many people as possible to benefit, so I’d encourage residents to check what’s available and speak to their broadband provider about upgrading.”
