Full Fibre broadband roadshow coming to Lochgilphead

People in Lochgilphead are invited to get up to speed with Full Fibre broadband – courtesy of Openreach’s new digital roadshow.

Work is starting to bring Full Fibre broadband to Lochgilphead through the Scottish Government’s Reaching 100% (R100) programme and the UK Government’s Project Gigabit.

The roadshow will be at Lochgilphead Front Green on Feb 6, from 11am to 3pm.

Openreach’s specially adapted vehicle is visiting towns and villages across the country during February, sharing information on Full Fibre broadband, which is available to more than 1.7m homes and businesses across Scotland.

The collaboration between UK and Scottish governments is creating opportunities to drive efficiencies between the Reaching 100% and Project Gigabit, enabling even more access to gigabit-capable broadband for rural communities.

Full Fibre technology allows for smoother streaming, faster downloads, and more stable connections - particularly important for households with multiple devices or for those working from home.

Stephen Chambers, Regional Engagement Manager, said: “We’re excited to bring our digital roadshow to Lochgilphead to talk about Full Fibre broadband, how it works and what it offers.”
