Broadband boost for 23,000 Oxford properties

Thousands of people in Oxford could be missing out on better broadband services, Openreach has warned.  

Engineers have been building a new Full Fibre broadband network for the city and have reached more than 23,000 homes and so far.

However, less than 15 per cent of those who could upgrade their broadband service have done so.

Openreach has invested £6.9m in the new Full Fibre network for Oxford.

Full fibre technology offers a faster, more reliable broadband connection. The once-in-a-generation technology enables locals to connect multiple devices at gigabit-capable speeds and will help businesses trade online and compete for decades to come.
