Openreach’s approach and accreditations

Read our policies

Our accreditations

We stick to the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing across the whole of our business. As part of that, we’ve earned these accreditations.

Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS)

We're accredited by this scheme, which is supported by the Health and Safety Executive. Most local authorities, housing associations, health trusts, fire services and similar public bodies look for contractors who have this.

SafeContractor

This is a health and safety accreditation scheme that shows we meet the SafeContractor Charter Standard. This means we also meet the Construction (Design and Management) regulations (CDM) stage 1 competence assessment core criteria.

Achilles

BT Group and Openreach both have Achilles UVDB (B2) Accreditations.  This is an annual assessment that audits all aspects of our health and safety systems together with key aspects of business management including risk, environmental compliance, supplier and contractor management.
