Openreach is calling on residents and businesses in Seaton Sluice to get behind plans to bring Full Fibre broadband to more than 1,400 local premises.
By pledging free Government Gigabit Broadband Vouchers, the community could unlock a custom-built Full Fibre network, with service available within 12–18 months.
This would join over 68,000 homes and businesses across Northumberland that already benefit from Openreach’s fibre network.
Funded through the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme, Openreach’s Fibre Community Partnership enables local communities like Seaton Sluice to co-fund network builds that aren’t already planned.
Once enough people pledge and validate their vouchers, Openreach will begin the build – with some homes potentially going live sooner than others.
Residents must commit to ordering a Full Fibre service for at least 12 months once available, and confirm that they’re connected.

It’s a community-led initiative to secure Full Fibre broadband using Government-funded vouchers through Openreach.

No. The vouchers are fully funded by the UK Government. Residents only need to pledge and commit to ordering a service once the build is complete.
Once the community meets the validated voucher threshold, Openreach will begin work – usually within 12–18 months.
