Engineer working inside street cabinet

Why isn’t Full Fibre available to my home or business?

We know it’s frustrating when you want better broadband, but Full Fibre isn’t available yet.

Building a new network to millions of homes and businesses is a massive, complex job but we’re going further and faster than any other broadband network in the UK.

We’ve already made Full Fibre available to more than 20 million premises and we’re on track to reach 25 million by the end of 2026. We’re not planning to stop there.

Here’s why it might not be at your address yet, and what you can do next.

Why Full Fibre might not be available yet

There are a few reasons why you may not see Full Fibre in your area:

  • We’re still building – we’re working hard to deliver all over the UK, and building further and faster than anyone, but we haven’t got to everyone yet
  • Complexity – some places are more difficult to connect, so they need special engineering solutions that take a bit longer
  • Cost – some areas (particularly more remote, isolated and rural communities) are prohibitively expensive to reach without public funding and support. We’ve got more experience of connecting these areas than anyone else, and we’re working closely with the UK, Scottish and Welsh Governments right now to reach as many as we can
