Broadband upgrade Suffolk reaches more than half of the county

Openreach has reached a major milestone in its Full Fibre rollout across Suffolk, with more than 210,000 homes and businesses now able to order the UK’s most reliable broadband.

This means around 55% of properties across the county now have access to gigabit-capable, ultra-reliable broadband.

Residents can use Openreach’s Full Fibre checker to check their postcode and find out if they can already benefit from an upgrade.

Faster, smarter internet for Suffolk homes and businesses

Openreach Regional Director Kieran Wines said:

“Upgrades don’t happen automatically—residents need to place an order with their broadband provider. And with over 700 providers using our network, there’s great choice and value.”

Openreach’s Full Fibre broadband enables:

  • Gigabit-capable speeds on multiple devices
  • Smooth video calls, streaming, and gaming
  • Resilient connections for working and learning from home
  • Future-proofed access for generations to come

With competitive pricing from a wide choice of service providers, many people may even find Full Fibre is cheaper than their current deal.

Future-proofing Suffolk’s digital infrastructure

Openreach’s UK-wide Full Fibre build has already passed 17 million properties, with a target of:

  • 25 million by the end of 2026
  • An ambition to reach 30 million by 2030, depending on favourable investment conditions

The broadband upgrade Suffolk is part of this transformational national rollout, delivering long-term digital benefits to local communities.
