Built by local engineers, backed by investment

Openreach’s local teams — including more than 1,400 engineers in the East Midlands - are delivering this major infrastructure programme. The rollout forms part of Openreach’s £15 billion UK-wide investment, aiming to reach 25 million homes and businesses by 2026.

“Full fibre offers the stability and speed needed for everything from working from home to running a small business online,” said Kasam Hussain, Openreach Partnership Director.

The company continues to work closely with Northamptonshire County Council and other regional authorities to support the digital transformation of both urban and rural communities.

Why full fibre matters for Northamptonshire

Full Fibre broadband delivers:

  • Gigabit-capable download and upload speeds
  • Greater reliability and fewer faults
  • Improved online experiences across multiple devices
  • Long-term infrastructure built to meet future digital demands

“This upgrade will help close the digital divide and make Northamptonshire a more connected and competitive place to live and work,” said Cllr David Howes of North Northamptonshire Council.
