Statement from Openreach in response to BT Group Q3 FY 2022 results (07:30am, Thursday, 03 February)

Clive Selley, CEO, Openreach said:

“We’re now more than a quarter of our way towards our target of reaching 25 million homes and businesses in the next four years – including a big chunk of rural Britain. It’s a significant milestone that underpins our commitment to build the largest and best Full Fibre network in the UK.

“More than 1.5 million customers are now reaping the benefits of a Full Fibre connection – with orders flooding in. This has been driven by our discounted pricing scheme, which is encouraging a whole range of Communications Providers to sell more Full Fibre – including the likes of BT, Sky, TalkTalk and Vodafone.

“We’re building Full Fibre faster, at lower cost and higher quality than anyone else in the UK and that is testimony to our engineers and build partners who are working flat-out across the country. This is a life-changing technology and we’re delighted to be adding more towns and villages to our build programme today.”
