Get your superfast broadband questions answered at Openreach surgery in Raglan
Residents and businesses in Monmouthshire are being encouraged to attend a local superfast broadband surgery that’s being held by Openreach at Raglan Old School between 5.30pm-8.30pon Thursday, 05 October.
With more than eight out of every ten home and business being able to access superfast broadband today across Monmouthsire as a result of the roll-out of fibre by Openreach engineers across the county, there is a greater opportunity to do more online than ever before.
The surgery will provide an opportunity for people living and working in Monmouthshire to ask Openereach engineers and planners about the fibre roll-out, how it can help them and find out what their options are if they’re not included in the current roll-out programme.
Ed Hunt, regional director for Openreach, the local network business which is part of BT Group, said: “The roll-out of superfast broadband across Wales is an enormous project which is revolutionising how we live, work, learn and play.
“More and more is being done online. Businesses, for example, can expand into new markets with fast reliable internet connections or save time and money by doing things, such as downloading large documents, faster.
“Quicker broadband speeds can also help families in so many ways. From doing the weekly shop to helping your children with their homework online, families are seeing the difference that superfast broadband can make to their lives.
“What’s important to remember is that businesses and families who can access superfast broadband still need to place an order with an internet service provider (ISP) in order to start receiving superfast speeds. The upgrade doesn’t happen automatically.
“For those currently unable to place an order, I’d like to highlight that we will continue to roll-out fibre across the county and our engineers will continue to work hard to roll-out fibre as far and as fast as possible.”

“Broadband is an issue that has been raised again and again by residents and businesses in Monmouthshire.”
“I’m pleased that Openreach have agreed to hold a drop in session so they can address household queries and provide possible solutions where there are ongoing challenges. I urge the public to attend the meeting, it will provide a perfect platform for our communities to share their thoughts with BT Openreach and enable access to improve.”
If households or businesses are able to receive superfast broadband, the upgrade will not happen automatically and they should contact their internet service provider (ISP) to order the service.
