We’re rolling out our Ultrafast Full Fibre broadband across the country.

It's our most revolutionary and reliable broadband ever - the next generation of internet. Surf, shop, game, play, click, teach, talk, work, create, learn, buy, sell and watch without skipping a beat or slowing down.

It's ready for anything. Are you?

We start off with a girlfriend talking to her boyfriend using their laptops in their bedrooms. She's showing him how to put on a beauty face mask for the first time. Her connection starts to go blocky and becomes unintelligible. He asks if she's still there? He slams his laptop shut, and on the whiteboard behind, his most important task is to sort out his internet.

Introducing the next generation of the broadband.

A video producer is editing footage of a fast sports car before her deadline of 5pm. She needs to upload the finished footage as quickly as possible and is amazed that it reaches 100% complete in less than a second. 'Whoa'.

    It's 10x faster.

It's a stormy night, and four gamers are gearing up for an evening session, lowering their headsets to multi-play. 'Let's do this'. 'What?', 'Come on' 'Yes!'.

    It's 5 times more reliable.

An engineer is drilling through a wall setting up someone's Ultrafast broadband connection. She's in the house and hooking up the hardware needed. She lets the family of seven all sitting in the living room on their various devices, heads down connected to the internet. One girl pops her head up from her device to say 'Thanks'.

    Connect more devices at once.

Our fastest connection yet

At 1 Gbps, it’s up to 10 times faster than the average home broadband connection. That means faster game downloads, better quality video calls and higher resolution movie streaming.

Use more devices at once

You can use a lot more devices at once without experiencing slowdown – so more people can get online at once.

Even if you and the rest of your household are making video calls, streaming box sets or gaming online, all at the same time - you won’t experience stuttering, buffering or dropouts.

Say goodbye to slowdown

Enjoy Ultrafast broadband speeds even at the busiest times. We’ve built Ultrafast Full Fibre to be less affected by peak time congestion - so you can enjoy your Saturday night blockbuster in 4K without the dreaded buffering screen.

Future-proof

Ultrafast Full Fibre broadband will service your needs for decades to come. As fibre optic technology evolves, you'll already have everything that you need in your property to get the benefits - upgrade or downgrade your speed without ever needing an engineer to visit your home.

Digital Phone line as standard

With an Ultrafast Full Fibre broadband package, we'll also upgrade your phone line - moving you away from the analogue telephone network that we're switching off in 2025 to a brand new digital phone line that uses the same technology as WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Skype to make phone calls.

Are you ready for Ultrafast Full Fibre?

Use our availability checker to find out whether you can get Ultrafast Full Fibre. If you can get Full Fibre at your property, you'll need to order it from your chosen internet service provider - it's not an automatic upgrade onto the new network.

If it’s available, all you need to do is:

1.      Pick an internet service provider from the list in the availability checker

2.      Contact them to order and choose the right package for you

3.      Wait for your chosen provider to give you an activation date and engineer appointment.

If it's not available yet, please fill in the contact form and we'll let you know when it's coming to your area.

  • More Ultrafast Full Fibre broadband features

    max 220Mbps upload speed

You'll be able to send that 2GB file in under 73 seconds.

A Digital Phone Line as standard

Get the latest phone line technology that plugs straight into your broadband, or choose no phone line at all.

    Our most reliable connection

Ultrafast Full fibre runs a fibre optic cable straight from our exchange to your door, meaning it won't let you down - so no more buffering or drop outs.

You might also hear Ultrafast Full Fibre broadband called Fibre to the Premise (FTTP), or Fibre to the Home (FTTH)

  • More GFast broadband features

    max 50Mbps upload speed

You'll be able to send that 2GB file in under 5.5 minutes.

Digital, Analogue or no phone line

We'll be switching off the ability to buy a traditional (or PSTN) phone line in September 2023. You can also choose not to order a phone line with this service (called Single order GFast or SoGFast). We recommend taking a digital phone line that plugs straight into your broadband to make calls.

    It's Superfast, but turbo-charged

GFast uses the same Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) technology as Superfast, but we turbo charge the connection between the cabinet  and your property to give even higher speeds. Because of this, we can usually only offer GFast broadband to homes and businesses that are close to their exchange.

You might also hear GFast broadband called VDSL2 and sometimes Ultrafast broadband as it offer speeds over 300 Mbps

  • More Superfast broadband features

    max 20Mbps upload speed

You'll be able to send that 2GB file in 13.5 minutes.

Digital, Analogue or no phone line

We'll be switching off the ability to buy a traditional (or PSTN) phone line in September 2023. You can also choose not to order a phone line with this service (called Single order Generic Ethernet Access or SoGEA). We recommend taking a digital phone line that plugs straight into your broadband to make calls.

Superfast broadband uses Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) technology

This means that we'll run a Fibre line from your exchange to your nearest cabinet. We then run broadband over the traditional copper wire from the cabinet to your home or business. This means that the further away from you are from your local cabinet, the slower your broadband speed is likely to be.

You might also hear Superfast broadband called Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC), or VDSL.

  • More Standard broadband features

    max 1.4Mbps upload speed

You'll be able to send that 2GB file in 3.2 hours.

    Analogue phone line

As part of our upgrade to phone lines across the UK, in 2022 we'll be launching the ability to take Standard broadband with a digital phone or no phone line at all with our Single Order Transitional Access Product (SoTAP).

    Broadband over your phone line

We use the phone line from the exchange to your home or business to run broadband. The further you are from the exchange, the longer your phone line, which normally means a slower speed.

You might also hear Standard broadband called Asymmetric Digital Subscriber line (ADSL)

Still confused about connectivity?

We explain how each different broadband type is delivered, and our build plans for Ultrafast Full Fibre broadband on our Fibre First pages.

  • The small print

    • Download and upload speeds given show maximum values but service providers may offer slower speeds and    packages using the same technology.
    • A 2 hour 4K movie has been calculated as 14GB of data.
    • 100 music tracks has been calculated as 8MB per song.
    • Typical deployment of Standard broadband may differ between service providers based on their implementation.
    • Service providers may name their broadband packages differently.
