Contract Consolidation

Openreach is working to consolidate all Ethernet point to point contracts into one single contract.

The information below is intended to keep our customers informed of our progress.

Introduction

Earlier this year, Openreach successfully completed the consolidation of the Wholesale Extension Services (WES) and Backhaul Extension Services (BES) Contracts into one Backhaul and Wholesale Extension Services Contract.

Over the past few months, Openreach has sought views from Communications Providers (CPs), via the 10th July 2009 Contract Workshop, Customer Briefings and Industry Forum presentations, on the prospect of further contract consolidation. The benefits of this include ease of doing business and efficient use of resources.

CPs have provided positive feedback to Openreach on its proposal for further contract consolidation within the Connectivity Services portfolio.  At the 15th October 2009 Contract Workshop, CPs supported Openreach's proposal to consolidate its 9 Ethernet point to point contract into One Connectivity Services contract.  In conjunction with CPs, Openreach has agreed a final version of a consolidated Connectivity Services contract.  Consolidation means what it says – no material or detrimental changes will be made to any consolidated contract compared with current separate contracts.

See final clean version below.  More detail on how Openreach has approached this exercise can be found in the Commentary and Analysis documents below.
