BNS offers connectivity to these outlying sites via dedicated fibre paths (i.e. spokes) supporting Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) or STM-4 interfaces. Up to 32 of these spokes are aggregated together at a hub located in a BT exchange and transported over a high bandwidth main link to the CP's own site where they are presented as discrete GbE or STM-4 interfaces.
Introduction
BNS is available on backhaul deployments of any number of sites/hubs as determined by customer requirements. The product is designed to offer the most attractive prices where fill rates at aggregation points (hubs) are high. Where there are low fill rates Backhaul Extension Services (BES) may offer a more cost effective solution. There is however no minimum number of spokes. Prices are available from the Openreach Price List. Orders for individual circuits will have a 1, 3 or 5 year fixed term.
All enquiries regarding this product should be made to your business customer management team with details of your proposed network requirements. This should include number of spokes, hubs (their location) as well as main site location/Point of Presence (PoP).
Openreach will work with customers to refine network designs to reach a mutually agreed solution.
