This briefing on the Fault Tracker web-messaging facility is for all Communications Providers.

This briefing provides information regarding a web-messaging facility which has been enabled on the Openreach Portal Fault Tracker.

An SMC-driven web-messaging facility has been enabled on the Fault Tracker on the Openreach Portal. CPs are advised that this specific functionality is at an early stage of development and has been enabled at this stage so that further checks can be made and a process review undertaken. Messages will not be added to this facility by the SMC, within business as usual activity. This is to give time for Openreach to ensure that this new messaging functionality does not compromise other agreed means of communication with CPs, for example free-format KCIs on EMP.

Openreach will continue to keep CPs informed of progress of the web-messaging development via the appropriate fora. Launch is dependent upon the success of the internal process review. In the meantime, please use the business as usual processes to deal with any issues. Openreach will continue to work with CPs on the effective communication of fault status updates.
