Liv Garfield

Liv Garfield, Chief Executive , Before joining BT in 2003, Liv worked for Accenture, the management consultancy company. She then joined BT as General Manager running a desk based sales team, before moving into the service world, managing call centres and leading provision and repair teams. Following that, she worked as BT Group Director of Strategy and Regulatory Affairs, where she oversaw the company's fibre broadband strategy and other key areas.

Liv's task with Openreach includes responsibility for the delivery of one of the fastest and most ambitious deployments of superfast fibre broadband in the world. Openreach has already made superfast connections available to more than 13 million premises. She will now oversee delivery of fibre to around two thirds of UK homes and businesses by the end of Spring 2014 - and to an even greater proportion of premises as public funding becomes available to get to areas where the economic case is more challenging.

Tim Barclay
Tim Barclay, Managing Director Sales and Customer Experience, leads a unit that has all of our critical customer interfaces together covering all of our sales and end to end service management functions.  Tim joined our sales team in July 2008 having previously been Director of Fixed Network Operators within BT Wholesale. Prior to that Tim was Managing Director of Teleglobe for UK & Ireland and has spent the last 15 years in the Telecomms sector.

Jon Hurry

Jon Hurry, Managing Director, Commercial Portfolio and Policy, joined BT in 2006 from Virgin Media bringing with him a wealth of experience of both the telecoms industry and the cable business. He has led the Commercial team to many successes, notably the continued increase of broadband net adds, the rollout of fibre, expansion of BT FON to over 2m Wi-Fi hotspots and the introduction of bundles. He has also been responsible for driving margin optimisation in our voice business which has enabled us to underpin our profits.

Roddy Thomson 

Roddy Thomson, Managing Director of Service Delivery. Roddy took up the role of MD, Service Delivery, in February 2012 having joined Openreach in 2011 as MD Transformation. He is responsible for running our 17,000 strong service delivery operation and the support functions that help them. The Service Delivery team are dedicated to delivering quality engineering to our customers and are responsible for providing and assuring service for all of Openreach’s customers through voice, broadband and fibre based VDSL.  Prior to joining BT, Roddy has spent much of his working life in large scale B2B customer service and field environments with leading UK and global organisations.

Chris Smith

Chris Smith, Managing Director, Service Management joined Openreach from BT Innovate and Design in January 2011, and is responsible for all aspects of customer in-life service management. From service management centres, customer experience, in-life services, contract delivery to Next Generation Access service, the aim is to provide a clear end-to-end process for our customers.

Before that he enjoyed a varied career with several major telecoms companies, including a long spell living and working in the United States. He was the Global Vice President of Services and Operations for Ciena and he's also held senior operational positions with a number of major carriers including Sprint and Level 3. In 2007, he rejoined BT where he'd begun his career 30 years earlier.

Johnny McQuoid
Johnny McQuoid, Managing Director, Openreach CIO, is responsible for the networks, systems, processes architecture for Openreach. Johnny joined Openreach Service Design in April 2012 from BT Group, where he was Group Superfast Broadband programme director, accountable for the £2.5 billion deployment of fibre-optic broadband to two-thirds of UK premises by 2014 and development of a range of high quality, high speed applications and services to benefit fibre-enabled consumers and businesses. Before joining BT he worked in Accenture for 12 years and a niche programme management consultancy for two years.

Mike Galvin
Mike Galvin, Managing Director Network Investment. Mike, who was previously heading the Next Generation Access programme in Openreach is now additionally responsible for Network Investment and Central Operations. Before joining Openreach in July 2011, Mike was responsible for BT's information technology and platform security, strategy and processes. He headed the 'Right First Time' initiative, covering customer experience and also led on Research and Innovation. Mike has helped to establish BT's name within the ISP industry, as it became the UK's largest provider in the 1990s, when he was Internet Operations Manager. He's also been responsible for a number of initiatives including BT's contribution to the formation of the Internet Watch Foundation, and the subsequent development of industry-wide policies for dealing with internet abuses and crime.

Helen Miles
Helen Miles, Chief Financial Officer, has worked at BT for 11 years and held a variety of roles. Before becoming the CFO of Openreach,  she was in  BT Group with responsibility for property, fleet, supply chain and all the other Group HQ units.  Before that,  Helen worked in BT Retail where she ran the cost transformation team before taking up the role of financial director for products and mobility. Helen worked in a number of large organisations before joining BT such as Barclays bank where she helped set up their first telephone banking operation, Bass Taverns, Compass group and HSBC.

 Nigel Cheek

Nigel Cheek, General Counsel, has invaluable experience in a number of areas key to the future of Openreach, plus an extensive knowledge of the product portfolio. Nigel leads on many of the formal requirements of our business including compliance and equivalence including leading Openreach's relationship with the Equality of Access Board.   He was previously General Manager, Market Operations Team with BT Wholesale's Legal & Business Services. Nigel negotiated the Local Loop Unbundling Adjudication Scheme with Ofcom on behalf of BT and was also a member of the team that negotiated the Telecommunications Strategic Review with Ofcom.

 Joe McDavid

Joe McDavid, HR and L&D Director, has more than 20 years experience of HR in BT. Previously he was HR Director BT Retail before moving to take up the Openreach role in December 2010. His experience includes a period as Industrial Relation Director for the BT Group and a spell in Global based in the USA. His responsibilities include driving engagement and helping develop a high performing culture in Openreach. 

Neil Driscoll 

Neil Driscoll, Managing Director Transformation, joined Openreach in July 2011. He leads our team of programme delivery, change management, process and communications experts who are responsible for defining and delivering strategic change initiatives across Openreach. Before joining BT Neil worked for Accenture where he specialised in large scale B2B transformation across industry, and before that, in engineering (aircraft maintenance) for British Airways.
